The artist has given the complete sum of his £25,000 award winnings to the MVT, which works to preserve the Britain's independent live music spots.
Fender was given the prize on October 16 as his latest record the album was declared the top album of the last 12 months.
He has chosen to donate the funds to the trust, in acknowledgment of the essential function local spots had in his beginning days.
"As an artist would not have achieved what I am doing today if it wasn't for all the gigs I played around the area, and beyond, when I was just getting going," stated Fender. "These venues are iconic, but they are struggling."
Beginning in 2023, at least 150 of these locations have shut down – roughly 16% of the whole industry in the UK.
Recently, well-known musicians like the band Pulp, Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all aided the trust in its attempts to help venues survive, by applying a modest fee to their ticket prices, which benefits smaller concert halls.
Fender also joined in, collecting over £100k on his recent tour to help thirty-eight local spots across England, Scotland, and Wales.
These funds supported venues that were confronting possible closure due to difficulties arising from flooding, blazes and family tragedies, as well as licensing issues, legal disputes and noise complaints.
Some locations were granted funding support in upgrading facilities and technical equipment that positively impacted musicians and concertgoers.
"The concept that money from performances in major spaces backs the local stages, where it begins for performers like me, is just common sense," Sam Fender has stated.
The musician is far from the only musician to give his award prize money to charitable organizations.
When the band won the prize in 1996 for their record their work, vocalist Jarvis Cocker declared that the act would contribute their prize money to the organization War Child.
In 2002, rapper and singer the artist divided her bounty between multiple charities, like the children's charity and a Sickle Cell charity.
"Additionally, I contributed a thousand pounds to my local community centre, to their gymnastics program, because I practiced gymnastics when I was younger and they lacked new equipment," the artist shared with outlets.
In recent years, the band contributed their winnings to the local youth club that nurtured their band, as well as other local music groups.
And 1994 winners they donated their winnings to a charity for MS after a acquaintance was identified with the illness.
"Winning was quite enough," stated vocalist Small. "The prize was the bonus but we didn't require the extra, because we had the honor. So our victory touched another person's life."
Last week, the Music Venues Trust announced it had protected several grassroots venues in that region, by transferring them to local control.
One venue in the city and the other in the city were purchased under the community ownership initiative, which is funded by Arts Council England and enthusiasts who acquire "ownership units" in the properties.
